Dr. med. Laura Schrörs – Specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine

Dear parents, I am a mother of 2 children. I know from my own experience what it means to be a mother of a sick child. Especially when children need regular treatments, it is incredibly important to remain calm. My own child has developed a great fear of doctors, especially because of pinpricks. It is therefore particularly important for me to create a trusting environment and to lovingly walk the next path or examination together with your child.

I worked with children suffering from cancer for several years during my training, both in Germany and abroad.

There is probably no greater happiness in life than to have a healthy child. I want to help healthy children stay healthy. And I want to help sick children so that they can be as happy as healthy children.

I was born in 1981 in Freiburg im Breisgau. Until 2009 I studied medicine in Freiburg, Göttingen and Buenos Aires – Argentina and did my doctorate in haematology and oncology.

As a resident I worked in general paediatrics and paediatric haematology and oncology in the paediatric hospitals of San Salvador de Jujuy – Argentina and the University Hospital Hamburg Eppendorf from 2010 to 2019. I completed my specialist training in 2019 in a paediatric practice in Berlin.

In 2021, I opened my own pediatric practice in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin, where I worked until the end of 2023. I have been part of the team at the German Clinic and Compass Clinic in Marbella on the Costa del Sol since 2024.
During my training, I acquired numerous DEGUM certificates in paediatric ultrasound diagnostics, as well as further training in travel and tropical medicine at the German Tropical Medicine Society and in emergency medicine at NAW Berlin.

Since 2003, I have been providing scientific support to the Institute for Medical Information and the Society for the Promotion of Vaccination Medicine and head the editorial departments Vaccination and Travel Medicine.

Since 2008, I have been supporting the human rights organisation Tu.Ju.Me in northern Argentina on a voluntary basis.

I have provided medical care to unaccompanied minor refugees for Johanniter and volunteered with street children in Costa Rica.

I am a member of the German Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine.

Chaska

Dear children,

My name is Chaska, Chaska Flöckchen.
I am now also part of Dr. Laura Schrörs’ team.
I am on my way to becoming a therapy dog to help children with anxiety at the pediatrician. Because I love children.
And I also know the fear of the doctor, because I am regularly examined by the vet. I also go to a dog school with a great dog trainer who is helping me to become a therapy dog.
If you prefer not to be in a room with me, I completely understand. Please let us know when you register. Then you will be taken to the “dog-free” examination room.

I look forward to seeing you,
Your Chaska
